Denise Claas@ Dec. chal. 8

After the war ended, a lot of people did not return home.  Some had died, others did not want to return.  The people whom were left behind, felt the need to give their grieving a voice.

In the old days a ritual was performed every evening to guide the ones lost home.  It’s called the evening ritual.  People stand outside and form a ball shaped bubble that holds a single flame.  The air takes it up into the sky.  It was performed every day.

After many  thousands of years, life still has losses and in the hidden city, once more, this ritual is being performed, to remember the lost ones, and guide their souls home. On the eve of the Wars-end, The city is lit up by hundreds of hand painted lanterns, that float to the sky.
